We’ve all seen the changes in the fresh produce aisle at the supermarket. Many American families can barely afford a conventional head of lettuce, let alone organic. It lacks the quality & flavor that it once had & there has been a large concern over the chemical practices in conventional farming. We are just starting to see the effects in our bodies & in our land. We want the taste & the nutrition of our old food back & we feel that everyone should have access to healthy food, so we came up with a solution for it: We will help our local community grow their own, regardless of the size of their property.
We model our mission after the “Victory Garden” movement of the early 1940’s, where 20 million Americans were able to provide 1/2 of the nations food supply by planting fruits & veggies on their suburban properties. Their production was able to lower the price of vegetables needed to feed the troops & while our needs are slightly different, we are now reaching another critical point, where we have to make a choice. By growing our own food, we eliminate the fuel surcharge & avoid the fees that farmers have to pay to be able to certify their food “organic.” You'll know it’s organic, because you grow it.
GreenDreams offers education, products & service – all key components to helping new & experienced gardeners deal with the (nutrient-lacking) sandy soils of the gulf coast. We offer classes & workshops to the public & also offer private consultations for residential properties, schools & community gardens.
We have an edible nursery & all the sources you need for your “home-grown” experience. Some of the items for sale include edible/medicinal trees, berry bushes, heirloom & organic seeds, organic fertilizers/nutrients, organic pest control, books, rain barrels & raised beds.
We also showcase vertical gardening in stackable growing containers, where anyone can grow things like herbs, strawberries, & lettuces in a very small amount of space.
Whether the gardener’s need is compost delivery, raised bed/tower installation or full-scale edible landscaping, we are here to help. We have owned & operated a landscaping company for over 12 years & are very honored to transition the traditional American lawn into something much more productive & sustainable, so that future generations will be better impacted. We take pride in bringing our food back to the way it was always intended to be grown. Without chemicals & without a hefty price tag. Growing our own food is a reward in so many ways & we want to show you how.
We want piece of mind in knowing how our food is growing, for the safety of our children & this planet we’re bestowing.
